Equilibrium
This photographic series featuring abstract balloon sculptures, melted plastic, ribbon, and plaster represents my ongoing exploration of texture, materiality, and colour. Showcased through the use of these contrasting materials, I seek to create a visual intertextuality that speaks to the complex relationships between different art forms and media. The brightly coloured balloon sculptures create a sense of playfulness and whimsy, contrasting sharply with the more neutral shades of the melted plastic, latex and plaster. These materials, in turn, create a sense of depth and texture that complements the delicacy and lightness of the balloons. Through this interplay between different materials, I aim to create a sense of tension and balance that invites audiences to engage with the works on both a visual and conceptual level.
In this series, I draw inspiration from a range of sources, including contemporary art, design, and sculpture. By referencing these works, I seek to create a dialogue between my own artistic practice and the broader history of sculptural object photography. This intertextuality adds depth and meaning to the series, creating a rich and multifaceted visual experience for my audience.

The Fruits of Our Labour
‘The Fruits of Our Labour’, aims to yield objects of still life to enact 6 archetypal narratives of illustrious feminine personas. Framed within the domestic space, this photographic series personifies fruit and vegetables to embody the vast reservoir of the feminine experience, and interrogates its representation depicted throughout art history and Hollywood film. Through replacing the human body with various feminine symbolic tokens, each object of still life placed together cultivate symbolic representations of the rogue, the youthful, the submissive, the mature, the daring, and the destructive.
I hope to inspire audience’s reflection upon how signs and symbols has helped to shape our understanding of distinct roles and values taken upon such personalities. Essence of the classical feminine is laced throughout the series by the golden heart bracelet motif, acting as a poetic continuity between alternative representations of the feminine experience.
